Lawley Primary School

"Planting the seeds, growing the future"

Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Lawley Primary School. I am very proud to be the Headteacher here, supported by a highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers and support staff. In our school we learn together with determination and resilience to be the best we can be! Everyone has a responsibility at Lawley as either Teacher or Learner, and we believe through our school motto, that “Discovery Unites Us!”

The school is a two-form entry primary with 426 pupils currently. I hope that you find our website informative and that it gives you an insight into the values and vision that underpin our learning in our school.

The whole school community at Lawley have high expectations for our children, and strive to ensure they leave school as confident, polite and independent young people, with the appropriate skills, values and learning to become successful in whatever their future will be. We aspire to instil in all our children a desire to never stop learning and to have the courage to succeed in whatever they do, across all areas of school life and beyond. At Lawley, we are ‘Planting the seeds, growing the future.’

Our school is dedicated to providing the best possible education in a stimulating and safe environment. Our curriculum vision has the development of English, Maths, Science and the whole wider curriculum at its core. Alongside this, we develop the attributes children need to be good learners, as these are the essential life skills for every child to be able to access future learning. Our children, from Years 2-6, have 1:1 devices (iPads) which teachers use to deliver resources for lessons using an adaptive teaching approach, ensuring all learners have access to all material for every lesson.

At Lawley Primary we are all building learning power. Our children learn well through practical 'hands on' learning opportunities. Our broad and balanced curriculum is taught through topics and themes of study where appropriate. We value a rigorous cross-curricular approach to learning and the curriculum is planned systematically through curriculum maps for each year group thereby ensuring the whole range of the New National Curriculum 2014 is delivered appropriately.

At Lawley Primary School we agree with the Department for Education’s five-part definition of British Values. We believe it is incredibly important that these British Values permeate through every school in the country. At Lawley Primary you will encounter these values throughout our everyday school life and through our promotion of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural understanding and through our school values of Happiness, Courage, Respect, Friendship and Responsibility.

The school has always promoted good links with the wider community and has a very supportive and active Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA). If you have any questions or suggestions, wish to become a committee member or would be able to support with any time at events please get in touch. Contact can be made via their Facebook page @LawleyPTFA.
